Q: What's all this then? | A: It's a shoot 'em up game! Y'know, a shmup. You fly around in a spaceship blowing up aliens, grabbing power-ups, aiming for the high score. It's fun! |
Q: Why do I have to sign in? I don't want another username and password to remember! | A: I hear you. The good news is, you don't have to create a username and password to play the game. But if you do, some cool extra features will be open to you; you'll be able to store up to three save games, and the system will create a user profile for you and keep track of all your stats, which anyone will be able to view by clicking on your username wherever it appears in the game. |
Q: I keep getting a crappy accuracy score. What am I doing wrong? | A: Be patient. Fire only when you see the green of their eyes. Also, avoid picking up the Spread Bullets or Double Bullets weapon upgrades! Every bullet fired by these weapons counts as a shot, so every bullet has to hit an enemy or your accuracy score will go down. Each Mine dropped also counts as a shot, so make them count, as well. (Keep in mind the shrapnel that blasts out of Shrapnel Mines does not count toward your shot or hit totals.) |
Q: What's the deal with Mines? | A: Mines are stationary bullets that you drop behind you. You can't drop Mines until you pick up one of the Mine items (regular Mines or Shrapnel Mines). Once Mines are activated, you have an unlimited amount, but you can only have 10 Mines on the screen at once. As soon as you drop the 11th Mine, all previous Mines will explode. Which can be handy! |
Q: What do Bombs do? | A: They kill every enemy on the screen! Except bosses. That would be too easy. For bosses, a bomb just works like a bullet that can't miss. |
Q: There's no reason to pick up an item again once I already have it, right? | A: Actually, there is! The more Shields, Extra Ships, and Bullet Strength you have, the better. Spread Bullets and Double Bullets each have two stages. And the Score Multiplier keeps multiplying up to 16 times! Also, items that can't be stacked any further, if picked up again, will reward you with points. |
