Ron Moore was only the show-runner for Caprica for the first few episodes, and handed over day-to-day control to Jane Espenson (who herself dropped out of the position in order to write more, so they brought in another guy whose name escapes me). One thing I disagree with you on: I don't think the Beldam is a demon. If you spell it "Belle Dame" it might give you a better clue of who/what she might really be... :)
