Pods and Antipodes, Volume Two
 by Fëanor

  • Dude, how cool is this thing? It's a tiny, tiny, tiny USB Pocket GamePad! Dimensions: 100x46x12 millimeters. And somehow they fit eight buttons on it. I'd think it would be hard to actually hit one button without hitting at least one of the other ones at the same time, but still. It's so cool! (Via Joystiq)

  • Okay, try to deal with all of this: they're making a Baywatch movie...it's being directed by splatter horror guy Eli Roth (who's responsible for Cabin Fever and Hostel)...the original stars, including Pamela Anderson, will only have cameo parts...and a "new crop of hotties" will play the main lifeguards, who will also be going around fighting crime.

Have you got all that? It's kind of blowing my mind. Worse, although I never watched the show, I actually feel kind of curious to see how this movie turns out. I mean, it just sounds so crazy!

  • I've got a new article on Phillyist, btw. It's a preview of a show I'm going to tonight.

  • I should think that in actuality it would be tiring and annoying to use after a while, but you cannot deny the awesome geeky cred of the PowerGlove Mouse. Yep, some dude took an old Nintendo PowerGlove and combined it with mouse technology, and voila! He moves his arm to move the mouse cursor on the screen, and bends his finger to cause a mouse-click. There are even step-by-step instructions included! (Via Digg)

  • Check out some cool pictures from Michel Gondry's new movie, The Science of Sleep. Gondry made the fantastic Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, so I'd already be ready and willing to see his next movie, but this one also looks and sounds awesome in its own right: it's about a guy who gets trapped in his own dreams and must try to escape. Yay! (Via Cinematical)

  • Quick, before the auction ends! Grab yourself an Inflatable 20-foot Outdoor Home Theater Movie System! The package includes a powerful video projector, sound system, DVD player, monitor, audio mixer, speaker stands, microphone, and all video and audio cables, not to mention the 20ft x 12ft VersaStretch Screen with inflatable frame! And to get it now, all you need is...$11,995. Ouch. (Via Shiny Shiny)
