An occupational force supposedly bringing order and peace and love and their one-God religion to the violent natives. The natives with their own government supposedly in control, but really it's just a puppet government run by the occupiers. A violent and dangerous insurgency who will stop at nothing to defeat their occupiers, and are even willing to hurt their own people and make use of suicide bombers. The occupiers trying to put together a police force made up of the native people. The native people see the police force as traitors and so their identities must be kept secret or they will be assassinated by the insurgency.

Am I talking about Iraq? No, of course not! I'm talking about Battlestar Galactica! I'm about half way through my tape of the season premier, and the parallels are clear and brutal and smart. Can hardly believe this show is on the air. I'm very impressed so far. This is so intense and nasty.
