In searching through my archives for stuff, I've noticed that my archive design is actually really annoying. I might leave that week by week design as an option, but I think I'm going to write a new archive that's essentially just an extended version of the main index, with title author and full post text listed out, and maybe something like 10 entries per page. That seems to make sense. And actually, I think I might change the main index to display the most recent 10 entries, instead of just all the entries written in the past week (which, due to my random updating habits, can sometimes mean a blank main page, which is bad).
Since I can't sleep, maybe I'll just do that right now. It shouldn't take long...
UPDATE: Okay, that's kind of done. I want a "Fresher Entries" link to go with the "Older Entries" link, so you can go back, but it turns out that's trickier than I imagined. Maybe it will make more sense in the morning... |
