Battlestar Galactica
 by Fëanor

Highlight to read spoiler-filled post (I've updated it, if you're interested):

BG, what have you done to me?!? Lately the show had been kind of dull and not-good, but then the last two or three episodes it's really taken an up turn. This latest one was an old school kick in the teeth. There were no sub-plots, only the one story: Starbuck. The last five or six episodes, I was getting pretty tired of Starbuck, but this one made her interesting again... and then, apparently killed her. Holy fucking shit!

Actually, really the episode leaves us with one of a handful of possibilities. Here they are, from least likely to most likely:

1. Kara did actually pull the eject lever when we weren't looking and somehow managed to escape the explosion and death.

2. Kara was human, and died in the explosion.

3. Kara is one of the final five, and immediately after the explosion she woke up spluttering in a tub full of jelly.

Yeah, she's almost certainly a Cylon. I don't think they're dumping her character like that, especially after building up that whole "secret destiny" thing.

But then again, you never know.

Oh, and for the record, yes, I cried. It was Edward James Olmos's fault. He's such a damn good actor, I couldn't help tearing up when he started to.

UPDATE: Talking to poppy this morning, I realized that there's an obvious problem with my theory that I hadn't considered, that being that Kara had a childhood, and lots of childhood memories, and she grew up and everything, and none of that happens to Cylons, as far as we know. Of course, theoretically those memories could all have been programmed into her, a la Blade Runner. But I don't know... Upsetting!
