On the Viewer - Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles ("Demon Hand")
 by Fëanor

Each successive episode of this show seems to be better than the last, and the latest one was no exception. In this episode, Sarah is trying to track down the missing hand of the Terminator they destroyed, while Cameron follows the trail of the Turk and its creator's Russian partner. John, meanwhile, learns a secret from the past about his mother that hurts him deeply, and Reese continues to express his distrust of Cameron. While all this is going on, our intrepid FBI agent is following his own leads, which take him to the home of Dr. Silberman, the psychiatrist who once treated Sarah.

This episode digs even more deeply into the story of Terminator 2, reenacting scenes from that movie and weaving its plot even more tightly into the show's. The great thing about this series is that it's clearly being put together by people who really get it, people who are fans of the original movies and are determined to remain faithful to them. I was excited to see them bring back the character of Dr. Silberman, and I liked very much where they took that character - it made sense, it fit, and it was highly entertaining.

Really, I like what they're doing with all the characters. The closer the FBI agent gets to Sarah, the more he's starting to believe her story, which adds a really interesting element to that storyline. Cameron has a seriously cold, bad-ass moment in this episode, which is followed up by an oddly human moment at the end of the episode that sets Reese to crying; it's a beautiful, effective, unnerving sequence.

Put simply, the show is fantastic. I don't think I'm going to be able to watch tonight's two-hour season-ender when it actually airs on TV, but I definitely look forward to tuning in on the internet later on and checking it out there. I just really hope lots of other people are watching, too, because I don't want this series to get cancelled!
