A Winner Is Mii!
 by Fëanor

It took me almost two years and almost 30 fights, but this morning I finally achieved Pro status in Wii Boxing. This means my Mii has Pro status in every sport in Wii Sports. Woo hoo!

Pretty soon after I started playing the game, I developed the opinion that Wii Boxing was both one of the most difficult and most athletic sports on the disc. Early bouts against the computer were easy, but as I kept going and gaining skill points, eventually I hit a wall where I just felt like I was flailing uselessly while the computer calmly handed me my ass. I gave up in frustration. But lately, now that we no longer have easy access to a gym, I've been using Wii Sports as a source of light exercise, and returned to Boxing because I remembered how it could quickly tire you out and leave you sweating. And as I spent more time with the game, I learned to be more precise with my punches and work in quick, powerful, one-two hits against my opponent. This morning I plowed through three or four computer characters and gained the last skill points I needed to become a Pro. Of course, I then immediately became afraid that I wouldn't do well enough in my next bout and would drop below the line, so I quit. But we'll see what happens when I pick it up again; hopefully I'll be able to hang onto my little Pro star.
