On the Viewer - Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Season 2, Episode 21 - "Adam Raised a Cain")
 by Fëanor

At the end of last episode, I got the impression John would be out on his own for longer, but the whole gang's already back together again at the start of this episode. And at the cemetery where the victims of the first Terminator movie are buried, no less.

Now we've finally got the connection that's going to lead John and friends to John Henry. One of the agents who attacked them at the lighthouse had a phone with Savannah's picture on it, and John remembers her from the psychiatrist's office.

Savannah's teacher: "I don't think I have to tell you, Miss Weaver, that there are some troubled people out there."
Weaver: "Yes, there are."
Savannah's teacher: "And they can look perfectly normal."
Weaver: "Yes, they can." Heh.

Weaver's still not so good with the child handling.

John Henry is fascinated by his brother, and wants to know if they're alike. He also points out that the human brain is an amazing computer, but flawed; there's nowhere to download it when you die.

John Henry: "It's possible heaven has a hardware problem." Awesome.

A Terminator has come for Savannah. It's almost certainly working for John Henry's brother. And she runs from it right into the arms of John Connor! Oh, now this is getting really interesting.

They just killed Derek?! Just like that?!? I am not okay with that. Charlie I could stomach, but Derek... Jesus.

Ellison says of Weaver's relationship with her daughter: "They seem close." Wha? Are we talking about the same Weaver?

John Henry's learning a lot of bad things. Sometimes it's okay to bend the rules, sometimes it's okay to lie. I thought you were supposed to be teaching him good morals and ethics, Ellison!

In the past week or so, John's lost his girlfriend, his father figure, and his uncle. All this death is either going to finally toughen him into a true leader of the future, or finally break him down completely.

Cameron to Ellison: "You lied to me once before. I should have killed you then." That's not something you want a Terminator to say to you!

Sarah wants to talk to Weaver. That should be an interesting conversation.

Savannah's telling John Connor about John Henry - and about the cord in the back of his head. Hoo boy. John is totally freaking out and it's awesome.

Ellison's stuck between two tough, stubborn women here. Poor bastard.

Very interesting line from Weaver, when she says she believes one day Savannah's survival and Ellison's survival will depend on John Henry's survival. It's vaguely possible that Weaver is here to save the future, too. That she came back to build a smarter machine so that the war between machines and humanity would never happen.

Cameron of Ellison: "I'm going to kill him."
Sarah: "You're not going to kill him."
Cameron: "He can't be trusted."
Sarah: "No one can be trusted."
Cameron: "But I only want to kill him."
That is freaking funny right there.

John Henry relates the story of Cain and Abel. He points out that Cain was cursed to wander the world alone (which reminds me of the story in the last episode about the man cursed into permanent vigilance). Then he asks, "Which brother am I?" Weaver says perhaps he's neither; perhaps in this story, he's God.

Cameron nearly tells John about Sarah's impending death from cancer. Like he needs to know that on top of everything else!

They're handing Savannah back over to Ellison in a movie theater. The movie that's playing appears to be Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.

Sarah's planning on destroying Zeira Corp, but I'm starting to think that would be a terrible mistake.

It looks like Ellison betrayed them, but probably the cop on the case just followed him because he was suspicious.

And so things continue to get even worse for John and friends, and the story takes some more big twists. I believe the next episode is the season finale. I look forward to the even bigger twists no doubt in store.
