On the Viewer - Dollhouse (Season 2, Episode 3 - "Belle Chose")
 by Fëanor

Well this is incredibly creepy. Here's a guy who really is turning women into dolls. And he's immediately hit by a car! Huh.

Turns out the folks at the Dollhouse are in fact looking for Dr. Saunders - or at least, DeWitt thinks they should be. Langton seems willing to let her stay gone.

Great, the Dollhouse is helping the creepy dude (whose name is Terry) get well. But a quick look at his brain has made them realize just how creepy he really is.

Langton: "Topher has ethical problems. Topher!"

Good lord. The Dollhouse has a fabulous fashion consultant.

Yes! It's Saul Tigh! Or I should say, Michael Hogan.

Wow. They loaded up Victor with Terry's personality. That's horrific. And brilliant.

Man, I don't know how much of this subplot I can take, with Echo as the ditzy crush of the college professor. Ugh.

Can't they pull specific memories out of Terry's head, and figure out where the women are? Or does the technology not work like that?

I think maybe Ballard's profiling of Terry is hitting DeWitt a little too close to home. Pushing real people away and surrounding yourself with fakes? Hmm...

A man claiming that women have the power because they can use sex to get what they want, intercut with a man claiming that women made him kidnap them and turn them into his dolls. The lies men tell themselves to make rape and perversion all right. This is seriously intense, heady stuff.

Oh, man. Victor as deranged and obsessive kidnapper/killer on the loose in the world! This is so good.

This is interesting: DeWitt asking Topher to recreate Alpha's remote wipe procedure.

Professor dude is really willing to go through a lot of conversation and pretend teaching to get his piece of ass.

Topher: "Victor's loose, doesn't have GPS, and apparently he's a serial killer?"
Langton: "Ah."

Topher: "He'll be an empty-headed robot wandering around Hollywood. He'll be fine."

Oh no! Did Topher really just turn all the actives into serial killers?!? Ah, no. Just Echo. But still!

I love Ballard stroking Victor's hair and saying, "You got a problem?"

Echo is fighting Terry even though he's still in her head, and telling Terry's victims to kill him by killing her. Insane.

Great, now Echo has Terry the serial killer floating around inside her head, too. Not good!

Definitely the best episode yet this season. Very disturbing, and very clever.
