Some lovely folks dropped a ton of spam comments on the blog this morning advertising boots, of all things. Apologies to anybody subscribed to the comments RSS feed. I think I've deleted all the evil comments now. The next step is to go in and alter the comments code in an attempt to keep this from happening again. Wish me luck!
UPDATE: Okay, I've got some new code in place now, and actually it's something I should have done a long time ago, so this was a good wake-up call. The HTML tags you can use in your comments are now restricted to just a handful of formatting tags - no more anchor tags allowed, sorry folks. I don't expect this to end all spam, but it's a good start, anyway. As usual, let me know if something doesn't seem to be working correctly. Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience. |
