Links Explosion!
 by Fëanor

  • Our hand-holder-in-chief.

  • Wouldn't this idea of replacing old military bases with oil refineries be really disturbingly appropriate in Iraq?

  • Read at your peril: a review of Revenge of the Sith from Kevin Smith. (I'm assuming this is for real and he's actually already seen the film somehow, even though it seems kind of weird to me.) I'm going to try not to read the whole thing until I actually see the movie, but I've already read enough to spoil some things for myself (d'oh!), and to get the gist--Smith loves the film. He says it's fantastic, incredibly dark and tragic, and totally lacking in the goofy slapstick comedy of the previous prequels. Most importantly, he says that it totally makes up for the mistakes and silliness in those other movies.

Well, we'll see about that. I know some of you folks feel that nothing could possibly make up for the Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones (except maybe a time machine and a team of time travelers made up of talented filmmaker/shock troops who could kidnap George Lucas and replace him with a robot or clone of some kind while they re-wrote and re-filmed the prequels for him--but that's crazy talk). But as for me, I'm so totally excited about this movie that I can hardly stand it.

  • And finally, nnnnnnnooooooooo!!! I only just got into beer, and now there's going to be a beer drought? Well, I'd better have a beer or three tonight, and then maybe stock up on it at the Foodery, too.
