The Usual: Movies, News, Games
 by Fëanor

  • They will not trick me into seeing another one of these. They simply will not!

  • Sarcasmo, pay attention! They've found the seat of your power!

  • I hadn't heard of this Skeleton Key movie before, but it looks like it might be kind of scary. Then again, it might just suck.

  • Thanks to babyraven for this link, wherein an Irish blogger makes fun of Revenge of the Sith in the amusing and loving way that only a true Star Wars fan can. Btw, I'll give you the same warning babyraven did--this link is loaded with spoilers, and will furthermore make little sense to someone who hasn't seen the movie.

  • So, these new game consoles are coming out. I'm not sure what to do about it. If I want to be honest with myself, I have to admit that I simply don't play many video games anymore. I haven't gotten back to Knights of the Old Republic II for a long while now, and I haven't even gotten around to installing Age of Mythology yet. There are one or two GameCube games I never finished, and I just bought a new one for some reason (Paper Mario, in case you're interested). I have plenty of games to play, and I'm not playing them. It makes no sense to lay out the money for a whole new system now.

So why am I already trying to decide which of the next gen consoles I should get?

I'm seriously considering giving up my long and true loyalty to Nintendo and switching over to Sony's Playstation 3, or even Microsoft's Xbox 360. All the new systems are going to be compatible with games from their respective older systems, so if I pick up the PS3, I can then go ahead and get all those PS2 games I've been wanting to play (that means having the rolly ball game, poppy!).

I feel like Nintendo totally screwed up somewhere along the way. They just don't have many good games anymore. It seems like all the designers are making games exclusively for PS2 and Xbox these days. For instance, I'd really like to play the Revenge of the Sith game. I walk by the demo in the window of the game store in the mall every day, and it looks so freaking cool, what with all the crazy lightsaber gymnastics and such. But no, sorry, it's only for PS2 and Xbox. Stupid Nintendo! What were you thinking? You used to be in charge! The big cheese, the head honcho! What happened to you?
