Chucks and Plugs
 by Fëanor

  • Apparently an A-Team movie has been in the works for a while, which should really surprise no one. Anyway, Cinematical has some fun (and experiences some agony, as well!) trying to cast the movie. The results are...interesting.

  • Via Sarcasmo: the bunnies have done Star Wars now. Good stuff. By all means, hang around for the fun outtakes, especially the exceedingly satisfying final one.

  • Man, I wish I'd had this when I went to see the movie: a guide to King Kong for those with small attention spans (and/or bladders). (You may need to sign in to see the link; sorry.) Luckily, I suspected that after Kong was safely subdued there would be a lull of a goodly length, so I took my bathroom break then - at what was apparently minute 137. (Via Cinematical)

  • Cinematical's Seven Most Quotable Movies is a decent list, although I'd eliminate Anchorman and Tombstone, because I've never seen the former, and I don't recall having heard anyone quote either of them. But The Blues Brothers, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and The Princess Bride all obviously had to be on there. They mention Star Wars at the top of the article as being a movie with really only one or two quotable lines. I would disagree, and would probably have included it, but I could be biased in that regard. Also, where's Dune?! I mean, come on. "I WILL kill HIM!!"

  • Frankly, I think it's good news that the film adaptation of the Asimov's classic Foundation trilogy is out of the hands of crummy, overrated director Shekhar Kapur, even if some of his legal rights are being trod upon. This adaptation is important, damn it! We need the right people working on it!

  • This is awesome: somebody (or, more likely, a group of somebodies) Mario-ized a hall at MIT. Definitely follow the link and check out the many pictures. They hung up all kinds of (presumably) hand-made props and representations of characters from the Mario video games, and even replaced a student information kiosk with a playable version of Super Mario Bros. Those crazy 733t haX0rs. God bless them. (Via Joystiq)

  • Btw, in case you didn't already know, Bush sucks. Hard. (Via dje2004 and Yagathai)

  • To paraphrase Cinematical, LotR failed to completely quench my thirst for watching Viggo Mortensen sword-fight, so this trailer for a Spanish action film set in the 17th century and called Alatriste was quite welcome. (Direct link to the Quicktime movie here.) There's no sound, but that's okay, because the whole thing's in Spanish (apparently, amongst Viggo's many other talents, is the ability to speak Spanish fluently) and we wouldn't be able to understand the dialogue anyway. Regardless, it's a fun trailer, and looks to be an exciting film. Now we'll have to see how long it'll take for the film to get to America in a form that poor monolingual folks like ourselves can comprehend...
