Chiggers and Chuggers
 by Fëanor

  • Mystery sea creature found! Do you recognize this fish? I wouldn't want to meet it in a dark alley, that's for sure. (Via Digg)

  • Dude, this is a pretty sweet little USB peripheral - computer-controlled air dart launcher! Here's a video of the thing in action. Awesome. I totally need one for my cube. (Via Digg)

  • We's a finally goin' to Pluto, folks. NASA's launching the New Horizons rocket today, and it'll get to the ninth planet (or however you want to classify it) in, oh, about ten years. Yep, a decade, even though it's the fastest spacecraft ever launched, and it'll be slingshotting around Jupiter (although not around the sun - no time-travelling for us yet!) to pick up even more speed.

I can't seem to figure out from any of the articles I've read how the ship is sending back the data it's going to gather - whether it'll just be transmitted to us, or the ship will actually have to come all the way back, too. I assume it's the former, because relying on the latter just seems a little ridiculous. Anyway, I just hope it gets some good shots of a Mi-Go.

  • Be astounded by the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny! Many, many figures from history and pop culture (can you name them all??) battle to the death in this ridiculous Flash-animated music video. It is stupid, but amusing. (Via Joystiq)

  • Hankering for a political gay terrorist vampire movie, and unable to slake your horrific and unholy thirst? Well, luckily for you, your sustenance has arrived, in the form of a film called (drum roll please) Dead Serious (cymbal clash and agonized groaning please). They claim to have a trailer available on the website, but it's taking forever to download. Still, if you want to try, the link is here. Sounds like the movie is currently making the festival rounds without much prospect for national release, but I bet it will show up on DVD one of these days. Who knows if it's any good, but it's got to at least be...different. (Via Cinematical)
