George Lucas Controls My Mind
 by Fëanor

Sometimes I hate what George does, but despite that I tend to buy all his products and merchandise and watch all of his films. He got his hooks in me when I was just a wee tyke, and I have never got them out of me. I just picked up his director's cut of THX-1138 on DVD, and the Star Wars RPG Knights of the Old Republic for the PC. Oh boy, am I excited. Oh boy.

Because what could be better than Star Wars and games combined into one object--a Star Wars game?!

Speaking of games, I've been playing a goodly amount of "Soul Calibur II" lately. I do like that game. I've stuck by my old favorite character, Mitsurugi the grouchy samurai, but I've also branched out and tried Link, Raphael and Ivy. Link isn't as cool as I'd hoped, but he's a pretty decent character. He can chuck bombs, which is nice. Raphael is totally an arrogant ass who wears big poofy shirts and is generally the kind of guy you want to kick until he stops moving, but he's also a great fighter. He has a rapier and he knows how to use it. And Ivy...well, Ivy is just hot. Plus, she has this weapon that is a combination chain/whip/sword, which is totally awesome.

But anyway, I got onto this topic because I realized recently that I curse a lot during games, especially "Soul Calibur II." Poppy can attest to this. Normally, I don't curse very much, I don't think. I mean, you know, when making fun of a movie or railing about Bush, yes. But otherwise, not really. It's games that really bring this out in me--video games, board games, etc.

I'm not really going much of anywhere with this, I'm just fascinated by the fact that one of the things that I take the most pleasure in also makes me swear like a pirate.
