Stalks and Leaves
 by Fëanor

  • Here's a class I'd like to take - Kaiju Cinema: An Introduction to Japanese Giant Monster Movies. Is this a real class being offered by a real university, and if so, which one? I'll be damned if I can figure out from the site. But really the idea alone is great. (Via Backwards City)

  • Sigh. They're making another Friday the 13th movie. This will be the twelfth one (no, I didn't know that off-hand, it was in the article...and then I looked it up on IMDB to make sure it was right. Stop looking at me like that!), and it will, unsurprisingly, revisit Jason's origins. This series is getting pretty damn tired, but I might check out another entry if it looks interesting enough, or if I've got nothing else to do.

  • There's something very amusing about looking at pictures of a dude just walking around Japan, riding trains, etc., but all while dressed up in a Stormtrooper costume. I just wasted way too much time scrolling through this guy's photos. Now it's your turn! (Via Cinematical)

  • Ah, the Infinium Labs jokes never get old. Well, okay, they'll probably be really old and dated and completely inexplicable in a couple months to a year. But still.

  • Check out this fascinating selective picture history of faked photographs at the Museum of Hoaxes. Wish I had me one of those giant grasshoppers... (Via Digg)

  • This is awesome: at Retrozone you can purchase pretty much any old console controller you can think of (including controllers for the Atari, the Intellivision, the NES, and even the Jaguar), but adapted for USB, so you can plug it right into your 'puter and fire up your emulator for some seriously retro play-time! If you're feeling handy and already have some old controllers of your own lying around, you can save some money, buy a converter kit, and add the USB connector yourself. This is such a great idea. I'm tempted to get an NES controller kit, especially if our old Nintendo turns out to be impossible to save... (Via Digg)
