- I was reading Defective Yeti's always wonderful Bad Review Revue, and this line from critic Bruce Newman about Harrison Ford's new thriller, Firewall, made me literally LOL: "It's like watching Microsoft's Service Pack 2 download for nearly two hours."
- Just a little more information about Bryan Singer's upcoming remake of Logan's Run, which is apparently still in the works. Apparently Singer's going to use elements from the book and the original movie, as well as some brand new ideas of his own, which include a fresh setting; apparently it'll take place in a unique environment that's never been seen in mainstream films before. Well, whatever. Anyway, I like the idea of remaking this, as the original is incredibly dated and not really that good, although full of great concepts and visuals. We'll see what Singer can do with it...
- In case you aren't subscribed to the Phillyist RSS feed (and if not, why not?) and haven't seen it yet, I've got a new story on there: the review of the show I saw Friday night.
- I was just talking about Gradius, and then I came across this cool project called Averaging Gradius wherein somebody compiled videos of multiple different people playing out the first level of the game and then layered them all on top of each other for a very interesting scientific and artistic study in gaming strategy. The analysis is interesting in terms of figuring out how the game works and what's most effective in each situation (although I think we need a larger sampling size and fewer variables to make any final conclusions), but beyond that the final movie is just cool to look at.
