Grommets and Whirligigs
 by Fëanor

I was going to wait a while before posting yet again, but this one was just getting longer and longer as time went by, so I decided to put it out now before it got completely out of control. Sorry for the verbosity, folks!
  • The indietits are on the ball today with a fantastic comic about contemporary advances in Rock Paper Scissors technology.

  • Hey, there's a new iTunes out! It's iTunes version 5, and now it's bundled with QuickTime. It looks cooler and has more info on the screen. The first time I tried to install it, it somehow eliminated my QuickTime and broke my iTunes, but that may have been my fault. Anyway, after I re-launched the setup program and ran the maintenance feature, everything was fixed, and I'm listening to my tunes in stylish glory again.

  • Dude, this video of the Napoleon Dynamite guy beating Bill Gates at slap-fighting and taking over Microsoft sounds hilarious. I hope somebody posts it on the internet soon. 'Cause that'd be sweet.

  • I remember playing a super-crappy Evil Dead game some years ago, but this new one sounds a lot cooler, at least according to Wired News. Of course, as usual, it's not for the GameCube, but there does appear to be a PC version. Or I could always wait until I have that PS3--that purchase is looking more necessary all the time...

  • Chinese, US presidents agree to further relations - Oh, they do, huh? I guess the first date went well, then?

Okay, no, I didn't read the article. I just love that headline.

  • Bush taking responsibility for something?! Well, sort of. But let's keep in mind he qualified his statement: "And to the extent that the federal government didn't fully do its job right, I take responsibility." Notice he isn't actually admitting there that the federal government did not fully do its job right. So therefore, he hasn't really taken responsibility for anything, yet.

Ah, politicians. They've really kind of perfected the art of saying a lot without actually saying anything at all.

  • Apparently, Johnny Depp missed his Pirates of the Caribbean character and was anxious to meet him again. Our friend at Cinematical says: "I really hope Jack's away most of the time, if only for the sake of Johnny's wife. Poor Vanessa would really have her hands full living with Johnny Depp AND a glammed-up pirate."

Hmm. I can think of one or two friends of mine who would REALLY enjoy living with Johnny Depp and a glammed-up pirate...
