It was a pretty good one. Caught up on my photos finally; you can find details and links to the new stuff in the latest news entry on my photo page.

Poppy indulged me and took me out to Pizza Hut for dinner, where she indulged me even further and allowed me to order my dream pizza: stuffed crust with pineapple and ham. Aww, yeah. It was fantastic. She also gave me presents and baked me brownies, and then let me watch Star Wars. She's a good one!

I went to the end of RotJ and watched the "Yub Yub" song, as threatened, and with great glee. No Hayden Christensen hiding in the bushes, either! Ah. I then decided to put in SW and watch a sort of "good parts" version, skipping to only the best scenes. The problem is, for me, every part is a good part. So I'm still watching it now. It's interesting watching it with the new films in mind and noticing how it really doesn't quite fit together with the past presented to us in the prequels. This film tells a simpler story about kings and princesses and wizards. It's pure and perfect.

And holy crap, the Greedo/Han scene in the cantina, where Han shoots first? So fricking hardcore!!! Man, I love that scene! I can't believe how completely Lucas ruined it in the "special" edition. The original just nails Han Solo in as the most cold-blooded, cool, gangsta-punk-ass killer of all time. In the new version he's just slow on the draw with a weird tic in his neck. Seriously, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching Han spit out, "Yes, I bet you have," before mowing Greedo down and casually dropping some cash on the bar to pay for the mess. So sweet.

As a final note, I decided today that although I like metal quite a bit, I don't have nearly enough of it on my iPod. Any recommendations for some good, heavy, hard, head-banging, speed-thrashing, really angry metal? I'm talking the kind of metal where when you listen to it, you feel like your face might melt off, or you might actually be physically transported to hell at any moment.
