Anthology of Interest!!!
 by Fëanor

-First, on the Wii: Vis Major was good enough to think of me when she discovered a cache of Wii nunchuck controllers at a Target. She called me up and I commissioned her to buy one for me. I have received it this morning, and I am very pleased. I am also very pleased at how much my parents, especially my Dad, enjoy playing Wii Sports. I finally got poppy to give the Wii a try, too, and she seems to enjoy boxing and bowling - but especially boxing. Although she does have sore arms now.

-Btw, speaking of poppy, she finally got herself on some serious drugs (a whole lot of them!) and is sleeping pretty well now, thank you very much. Better than me, actually! I was up late due to too much caffeine and too much Phillyist.

-Near Dark: I finished watching this. Good film! It didn't seem very good to me, but I might have enjoyed it more if I hadn't watched it in the way I did, that being in short installments spread over many days on a tiny screen in environments where it was often hard to hear the dialogue even when I turned the volume all the way up. So yeah, a second viewing might be in order. Regardless, I am quite convinced that Lance Henriksen and Bill Paxton as redneck vampires is just as excellent an idea in practice as it is in theory. I particularly liked when the main character asked Henriksen's character how old he was, and he responded, "Let me put it this way: I fought for the South. We lost."

-Sunday we went up to a friend's house and enjoyed a Hanukkah celebration that mainly consisted of eating an enormous amount of fried foods. It was fantastic. I don't think it's a coincidence that every time I try to type the word "fried," it comes out "friend" first. The fried foods are your friends! Especially donuts. Well, you know, they're the kind of friends that have a bad influence on you, but whatever. So tasty!
