After having just discovered that none of my applets even work anymore (at least not on the computer I'm using right now), I've closed off the applets section of the website. They were never really all that great anyway, and I hadn't been maintaining them for a number of years now, so it was past time for them to go.
I also think pretty soon I'm going to remove the "jim" directory from the website and just shift everything up a directory. I'd originally intended the stuff in the jim directory to be the personal section of the website - the small, frivolous, fun part - and for the stuff in the root directory to be the main part of site where I'd be selling widgets for cash. But in fact, the workshop and store sections have remained empty for their entire existence, and the personal part of the site became the main thing. So, time for the directory structure to reflect that. If I do eventually make something worth selling (and I do have an idea or two), I'll just add the store back on.
What this means for you is that the links to pretty much everything on my website - including this blog, and its rss feed - will be changing soon. In fact, I'm going to go ahead and set a date now: by next Wednesday, 11/28/07, the jim directory will be no more, and this blog will henceforth be at http://www.feanorsworkshop.com/blog.
Of course I'll leave behind explanatory pages at the head of every section that will redirect to the correct, new pages.
