Let me just say something here
 by Fëanor

Shia Labeouf trashed Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull and Transformers 2 in recent interviews. He does seem to understand what was wrong with Indy (he mentions "monkey-swinging," and yes, that was pretty much the moment when I said, "uh... what?"), but he completely misdiagnoses the problem with Transformers 2. No, the issue was not that you "lost a bit of the relationships." The issue was not that it became "just a bunch of robots fighting each other." If either of the Transformers movies had actually been "just a bunch of robots fighting each other," they would have been infinitely better, and infinitely more watchable. The problem with Transformers 2 is the relationships - namely, the horrible, horrible, two-dimensional characters and the horrible, horrible attempts at humor involving those characters.

UPDATE: Also, to claim that there is some essential difference between Transformers and Transformers 2 is ridiculous. They're the same movie.
