still sick |

Each day, I feel horrible in an entirely new way! How exciting! Anyways, probably won't be making it to the Battlestar Birthday party tonight. This makes me sad, but I don't think you folks'd want me around anyway. I might infect you with my horrible poisons. Regardless, happy birthday, TrackerNeil! Hope it's a good one. (Do you even still read this blog? Wouldn't blame you if you didn't...)
Let's see, what have I been up to? Very busy at work dealing with end of quarter stuff and silly clients. Pretty busy at Phillyist, too. Not much time to do other things, like clean up the condo, buy groceries, etc. There has been time to video game, though, thankfully. I finally beat Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. The last two bosses in that game were probably two of the hardest bosses I've ever fought in any game ever. Especially the very last one. I must have fought that battle at least a dozen times, slowly honing my skills and my strategy and getting into the rhythm of the battle until I finally managed to win. Talk about a hard-fought victory! I really earned that one. And after you finally get through the multi-phased boss battle, they make you do the whole "get out of this building before it explodes" thing!! It would have really pissed me off if I'd lost then and had to redo the battle again.
Anyway, now I've started on the sequel, Mario & Luigi Partners in Time. It's very fun so far. Adds a new dimension to the original by including time travel and the baby versions of Mario & Luigi. So now you're actually handling four characters at the same time. Crazy! Plus it's on the DS, so better graphics, etc. Sometimes I feel like they really are reaching for uses for the other screen, though. And no touch-sensitive controls that I can see. Still, good game so far.
Got tons of new music and have been slowly, slowly processing it. I just got the new Bob Dylan album and started listening to it this morning. It's okay; it's in the vein of his two most recent releases, in that it has a kind of old-timey, folksy, bluesy sound to it. It'll definitely take some more listens before I put together my full opinion.
I broke down and just bought the season pass for "Lost" on iTunes. I've got the first episode on the 'pod now; I'll probably watch a bit of it on the way home.
Speaking of which, it's time to put up another DVD on the 'pod (I finished watching the Massive Attack video collection DVD, which was pretty cool), which means trying out some of that freeware Tim pointed me towards! Wish me luck... |
