["Lost" spoiler warning!]
I can't believe they killed Eko! He was such a cool and interesting character. I really think they could have done a lot with him. I'm definitely sad to see him go. I still like the show, though. They've still got me. I thought the scene with the woman telling Jack one thing audibly, and another thing on the video tape, was very cool. Who knows if her request isn't itself some kind of trick.
Lots of good football yesterday; watching some more football now, but it's not as good. The Raiders just look terrible. Seattle is murdering them.
I've got lots of video on the 'pod just now - as you can tell, I just finished watching the latest episode of "Lost." I started working on the latest "Battlestar," and then I've got four episodes of Dr. Who, thanks to a disc from Netflix and the Magic DVD Ripper. I looked at some of the freeware programs people had sent my way, but nothing seems to be quite as perfect for my DVD to iPod needs as the Magic DVD Ripper. I think I'm going to pay for the registration once my trial period is over. I'm sure I'll get my money's worth out of it.
Sarah and I recently finally got around to watching Fog of War, which was a really amazing, intense, fantastic documentary. Well, really less a documentary and more a lengthy interview with Robert McNamara, who had quite a life, and worked as Secretary of Defense through some of the most difficult periods in American history to be the Secretary of Defense. What he learned, and the drama and emotion of his story, was really riveting. And also deeply frightening. Basically, the human race is constantly on the brink of complete annihilation, even when rational people are in power. So imagine how close we are now... |
