Well, I picked up the three single issues released this week that I wanted, but the collection I was looking for (Bulletpoints) was already sold out when I got to Atomic City. Argh! I'll have to look for it again another time, or maybe just grab it on Amazon.
Anyway, I've already read half of the books I picked up - 1 1/2 of the 3. I was kind of hoping The All New Atom #12 would be bad enough that I could now drop the series, but instead it was just funny and clever enough that I feel I must purchase at least one more issue. A big part of what's keeping me reading the series is the disembodied alien head with bad syntax and an addiction to spray cheese that lives in our hero's house. That head is hilarious. But now I need to look up who this Chronos guy is.
The book I'm halfway through is Buffy Season 8 #4, and it's all good so far. I love me some Buffy. UPDATE: Finished, and the rest was also all good. I'm really enjoying this series. It really is just like watching an episode of the show (from a good season, I mean), but in comic book format.
On a non-comic book-related note, it was excellent to see LA Confidential again last night. I'm reasonably certain it was only my second viewing of the film, the first time being when it was still in theaters. And as often happens with me, I enjoyed it much more this time. What an excellent film. Fantastic performances, interesting (and complex!) story, intriguing characters, brilliant dialogue, brutal action. Great stuff. |
