Still no tattoo! |
by Fëanor |
So, I recently went back to the tattoo shop to get an opinion on my new design, and to set up an appointment to get it done. The artists I talked to said the design was good (yay!), but scheduling the appointment was literally impossible. My busy schedule is simply not compatible with their busy schedules. So they suggested I simply come in today as a walk-in and they'd almost certainly be able to fit me in. I said that sounded good.
Problem is, I've been sick all week. It started Sunday night as a general aching and tiredness and a sore throat, and progressed into a nasty cough which is still with me. I did take a few days off of work, but I didn't really rest or slow down, partially because I was kind of pretending I wasn't sick so I could still do all the stuff I wanted to do, and partially because the cough was keeping me awake. All of which I think combined to keep me sick for longer than I would have been otherwise. Poppy suggested that I just rest today and not go in for the tattoo. She seemed to think that my already embattled immune system wouldn't react well, and she's probably right. Plus, I imagined myself suddenly getting a coughing fit in the middle of the tattoo, and the needle dragging along my arm, and decided it probably would be better to wait.
I'm disappointed, obviously; I just can't seem to get this thing done! But if I rest up today, maybe I can try to walk in early tomorrow and see if they can do it then. Or, barring that, I can just try to fit it in some weekday evening later on. Meanwhile, I'll just try to take it easy. I'm not very good at doing that, though... |
