| The Warren Ellis Love Continues |

Have I mentioned recently that Warren Ellis is the most consistently excellent author of comics that I have yet come across? I believe I have, but let me do so again: Warren Ellis is the most consistently excellent author of comics that I have yet come across.
So you can imagine how excited I was moments ago when I was reading scans_daily and a commenter reminded me that Warren Ellis is going to take over Astonishing X-Men in the near future. I Googled this to make sure it was true, and not a beautiful dream I was having, and came across this fantastic interview. Man, even in an interview, the guy is incredibly smart and funny! He calls Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men a "nun-eating rock monster" then decides that, no, it was actually a "tree-shagging, mind-fucking electronica skinnyboi," then muses that "you could've maybe turned around the entire last half of the run by making him listen to Godspeed! You Black Emperor..." And what can we expect from Ellis' run on Astonishing? "Oh, the usual, you know. Raping your childhoods, using my position to destroy everything you love."
I cannot wait! This'll be the best thing to happen to the X-Men since... well, since Grant Morrison took over New X-Men. |
