Solipsism |

Another post all about me! But what is a blog for if not complete self-obsession?
First of all, I've added yet another rss feed. This one keeps track of updates to all the pages on the site that are not the blog--the photography section, the applets, etc. Now I shouldn't have to mention updates to those sections in my blog. Although, you know, I probably still will.
In fact, let's do that right now! I've posted pictures of that model train setup I mentioned earlier, as well as a new random picture that I took on the way to the bar where I celebrated Yagathai's birthday by having a beer and giving him twenty dollars. A trashy present, I know, but I'm hopeful that he used it to buy the red meat he so desperately wanted, and thus was sated.
While awaiting Chairman Mike's arrival at the Artful Dodger bar on Friday night, Sarcasmo, Super Tarzan, and I enjoyed watching official right-wing propaganda/Ministry of Information station Fox News dispensing its usual hokum. We also saw one of those great commercials where they make a simple task look extremely difficult in order to sell you their totally unnecessary product (I've seen this done to hilarious effect with tasks like coupon-clipping and pasta-cooking; seriously, folks, how hard is it to cook pasta?). In this case, the task was opening jars, and the product was a machine about the size of a computer monitor. This huge and complicated device literally just opens jars. That's all it does. I was flabbergasted. Admittedly, sometimes jars are hard to open. But usually you can find a reasonably able-bodied fellow nearby who can pop the suckers tops after you have helpfully "loosened" them for him or her. I mean, this is why people have kids and grandkids, right?
Anyways, not much else going on that I can think of. Except the looming specter of Christmas, lurking in the shadow of Thanksgiving like a thief in the night! But I kid Christmas. I like it fine. I'm just no good at shopping for other people. Luckily, I have a wife now, and she seems to be quite good at it. :) |
