Retreading |
by Fëanor |
I welcome you to the year 2005 with some stuff you probably saw in 2004. But if you didn't see it, or if you want to relive last year already (we are pretty quick to reminisce these days; just turn on VH1), here it is:- The Chemical Brothers use some pretty great editing and computer effects to transform clips from various old kung fu movies into one of the greatest music videos I've ever seen, in this link, courtesy Sarcasmo (just choose your preferred player and size and the show will begin).
- Secondly, enjoy the trailer for Sin City, the movie based on Frank Miller's comics of the same name. I've read a few of these, and they're damn awesome. The cast and crew on the film are amazing, and it looks like they've decided to go the Dick Tracy route and transfer onto the screen, completely intact, the comic's visual style and atmosphere. Awesome.
- And finally, I've watched the first half of Return of the King, the extended edition, and my feelings are mixed. The things that bugged me about the movie are chafing me even more this time around. A number of the extended scenes are really excellent and add a lot to the film, the characters, and the story. But some of them are totally unnecessary and even kind of stupid. But I do remember that I liked the second half of the movie much better than the first, so we'll see how I feel once I've finished watching it.
Anyways, I'd say that's all for now. Hope you're all having a good 2005 so far. |
