Tyrol's character arc continues through this episode. I said last time I felt like he was on the edge of a big decision and he could go either way, and here I feel like he makes that decision and he chooses Baltar. Baltar singles him out at one of his cult meetings, starts talking about Cally and how she would have appreciated Baltar's message, then offers Tyrol his hand. Tyrol gets really pissed off, chokes Baltar, then goes home in a rage and even considers killing himself. But when Baltar comes to see him later that night to apologize, Tyrol offers him his hand and he takes it.
Meanwhile, out on the Demetrius, Starbuck gets Leoben out of the Heavy Raider and starts painting with him in her quarters, which understandably upsets her former husband and her crewmates. Leoben reveals that he's a survivor from a Cylon civil war and that he's seeking an alliance with humans against the other Cylons. Things get more complicated when there's an explosion and a death, and then Starbuck still refuses to jump back to the fleet to refuel. Helo stops a mutiny, but ultimately finds he must relieve Starbuck of command.
It's another intense, dramatic episode. I love watching the Final Four squirm as people keep saying things to them that make them fear their identities as Cylons have been revealed. I'm also really fascinated by Tyrol's slow transformation as a character, and interested to see if Starbuck and her crew are just going to completely self-destruct. Good times. |
