On the Viewer - Battlestar Galactica (Season 4.5, Episode 4 - "Blood on the Scales") |

Roslin and friends end up taking refuge on the rebel Cylon Baseship. Huh. Also, Hot Dog wouldn't fire on the president, so he's still a decent guy.
Adama's explanation for staying behind last episode: "I care too much for this ship to let it be overrun by rats." Okay, I can kind of see that. He also remains a stone cold bad-ass, totally making Gaeta look like a fool whenever he talks to him. And now Gaeta's even going to have a sham trial, which means it's time to bring back annoying lawyer guy!
It's a deeply shocking and cold-blooded scene when Zarek has the Quorum shot. It's something he's clearly reluctant to do, but it's something he does anyway because he sees they'll never support him. Wow.
Another very moving and effective scene takes place in the munitions locker, when the Chief is caught trying to grab weapons by a soldier who ends up letting him go.
Anders shot! That doesn't look good. (We don't find out whether he survives or not in this episode, either.)
Man, that was even more of a sham trial than I thought it was gonna be!
Lawyer dude killed an armed soldier with a pen! Impressive. Also, he is such a sucker for a lost cause.
Baltar had a kind of vision of Adama being shot. Weird. And now he's actually planning to walk into danger, and take responsibility for something. That's crazy!! That's not the Baltar I know!
I like the scene where the guy says, "Yes, sir, I'll carry out the execution," and then we pan over and Tigh's already there with a gun to his head. Nice.
The thing about this show is, I really believed they might execute Adama. That's something they'd totally be willing to do.
Oh, man. Roslin is even more bad-ass than Adama. "I'm coming for all of you!!"
I love how people just wordlessly jump out of the woodwork to follow Adama.
Good one, Chief, killing the FTL drive at the last second!
Look who's on the other side of the firing squad now! On the one hand, it's a little surprising to see Adama ordering an execution, but on the other hand, those guys really had to die.
Wow. Excellent, excellent episode. So tense and powerful. The only question is, how can they follow this up?? |
