Recent Adventures in Food (Involving Bacon) |
by Fëanor |
poppy, knowing of my affinity for bacon and chocolate, was good enough to get me one of these the other day. Here's a picture of it sitting on top of a pile of comic books:
It tastes like... well, it tastes like a chocolate bar with bits of bacon in it! It's really quite good. The soft, sweet chocolate and the crunchy, salty bacon come together to create a delicious concoction. I've had two chunks of it so far; I'm trying to conserve it.
Last night poppy, Heather, Kaki, Matt, Christy, John, and I went to a performance of William Shakespeare's Land of the Dead. More on that later. Prior to the performance, we stopped at Devil's Alley for dinner, where I couldn't resist the siren song of a dish on their menu called the hot dog platter. This consisted of a hot dog stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, placed in a roll, and accompanied by a side of fries and some hearty, meaty baked beans. Here's a photo:
It was totally delicious. I cleaned my plate and washed it all down with a couple of Yuenglings. John got a meal that was nearly as impressive: a burger accompanied by a bunch of fries wrapped in a couple of onion rings. The rings and fries combination was placed on top of the burger and crushed down, then covered with cheese sauce. Brilliant! |
