I still would really like to hear a full song, obviously, but here's the most music I've heard yet from Them Crooked Vultures, the new super group featuring Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and John Paul Jones. I like all three of those guys, so I'm primed to like the group. But I still find the way they're marketing themselves a bit odd and backwards. They have a rather enigmatic Twitter account; a website with a forum, a store (where you can buy a rather expensive T-shirt), and some kind of Google Earth thing; a Facebook page; and a mailing list... but no finished music yet. I remember in the old days when bands used to have to have music first before they went around marketing themselves! I mean, I considered becoming a fan of the band's Facebook page - but then I realized I have no way of knowing yet if I really am a fan!
Still, like I said, it's almost a foregone conclusion that I will like them. I'm basically just waiting for the album to come out so I can buy it.
