Recyclotron |
by Fëanor |
Fëanor pours the entire internet into the Recyclotron, and only the best links come out the other end for you to enjoy.
- The 7 most inappropriate products for children. I've posted one of these before, but the others are new to me. "You Can Shave the Baby," eh? No thanks! But hey, what's wrong with tattoos? (Via poppy)
- Here's a movie starring Bai Ling as a flesh-eating astral zombie mermaid who can materialize anywhere there's water. That's... creative.
- Cool list: the top ten killer sci-fi chicks. Hudson: "Hey, Vasquez! Have you ever been mistaken for a man?" Vasquez: "No. Have you?"
- Warning! The cuteness contained here may be too much for you to bear. The Journal is not responsible for any injury you may sustain.
- A Javascript NES emulator! And it works best in Google Chrome! It's like it was made for me. The only problem is, I can't get my favorite game (The Legend of Zelda) to load properly. (Via)
- A bunch of images related to Coruscant, the Star Wars universe's city planet.
- The kid who played Cyclops in X-Men Origins: Wolverine will apparently reprise the role in X-Men First Class, which could be released as early as 2011.
- A toothpaste that includes sedatives.
- Flickr has added a clever new feature: Galleries, which are essentially user-created sets of other people's photos.
- 11 things Wal-Mart has banned. It's easy to dislike Wal-Mart for its censoring ways, and its business practices. But one of the things that really bugs me about the company is it can't seem to decide how to spell its own name! Is there a star in there? A dash? Is it all one word? Gah! (Via)
- METAL ONLY. Word. \m/ (Via)
- Lots of interesting details about what's to come in Dollhouse, including what parts Summer Glau and Ray Wise will be playing, and all from the mouth of the man himself: Joss Whedon. I didn't know Amy Acker was leaving the show! That is sad. (Via)
- Finally, an official sequel to Dracula! (Via)
- Get fit with the stars of Dollhouse! Tips from Eliza Dushku and Dichen Lachman, plus a slideshow of them working out together. Yowza. (Via)
- Guitar-shaped spatula. (Via)
- Umm... what? (Via)
- There is a blog called Hot Chicks with Stormtroopers. Here is a video slideshow of the first 100 posts. The choice of soundtrack is really quite hilarious. (Via)
- An earlier version of T. Rex was pretty much exactly the same, but smaller. Sort of a Muppet Baby T. Rex. Awww.
- Miyazaki bento boxes.
- The writers of Zombieland are working on a movie called Earth Versus Moon "about a civil war between the Earth and a colony on the moon about 400 years into the future."
- Apparently, you could own Gene Roddenberry's Apple Macintosh Plus.
- A new trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. I never read these books, but the movie is looking like it could be pretty cool.
- Sweet Stargate case mod.
- Some interesting news briefs: Vinnie Jones is joining the cast of Chuck, Tron: Legacy will come out in IMAX 3D on the same day it opens in conventional theaters, and Clint Eastwood will direct Matt Damon in a supernatural thriller called Hereafter (!!!).
- Christopher Plummer and Brad Dourif have joined the cast of Priest.
- An update on Diablo Cody's zombie movie. Things are apparently moving along.
- Lighting a charcoal grill can be a lengthy and irritating process, but this guy has found a shortcut: pour some liquid oxygen on it! That's rocket fuel, people.
- It's the world's biggest hamburger! It weighs as much as a grown man. Think about that. It's like you're eating a whole person!
- Neck tie bottle opener!
- ThinkGeek has a shirt with a LEGO baseplate attached, so you can customize it any way you want by sticking LEGO bricks to it! Awesome.
- Watch three minutes or so of Astro Boy. Huh. Some of the humor is pretty childish and lame, but otherwise this is actually pretty cool.
- Heh. The top ten white trash heroes of cinema. Luke Skywalker takes the top spot! (Via)
- Looks like you can use a 3D printer to make a key that'll get you out of handcuffs.
- The trailer for the new Ultraman movie, Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legend The Movie. Looks like it's everybody vs. everything, ever.
- A woman can see again after doctors implanted her own tooth in her eye. Science!!
- Exciting news! According to both Sci Fi Wire and Cinematical, the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movie might actually be good!
- A collection of silly animal videos, including the classic "slow loris being tickled" clip.
- Awww, Li'l Hal Jordan. (Via)
- Turns out Nicolas Cage left Green Hornet because he thought his character lacked motivation and humanity. And that differs from your other characters how, exactly?
- Yet another Kanye joke, this one found in an office fridge. (Via)
- Hunting Space Invaders. (Via)
- Another fantastic Onion article: "Melting Ice Caps Expose Hundreds Of Secret Arctic Lairs." (Via)
- The same six numbers have been drawn in two consecutive rounds of the national lottery in Bulgaria. (Via)
