Recyclotron |
by Fëanor |
Fëanor pours the entire internet into the Recyclotron, and only the best links come out the other end for you to enjoy.
- These could be the most dangerous animals of all time! Or maybe it's these guys (via).
- Video of a small, radio-controlled monocopter. The plan was to make a nano version the size of a seed pod!
- The folks at Joystiq review the PSP Go. Their conclusion is that it's a bad idea for a portable console, but it's well executed.
- Steampunk MAME arcade cabinet! (Via)
- Suck! That full-size house made of LEGO bricks has already been demolished, as nobody stepped forward to buy and preserve it.
- A totally interesting and funny Ze Frank-style video about TV for chickens.
- More items on the Tokyo Game Show: a gallery of stuff you should have bought there, a video revealing the game of the show (no, not really), and another gallery of cosplay. Some of those folks are kind of scary...
- An examination of a sci-fi script called Shadow 19, written by the same guy who wrote the Alien prequel. It involves a mecha war suit and apparently it's very exciting.
- A look at some superhumans who are dying from their own powers.
- A couple of sneak peeks at V. The second video seems to be mostly footage I've seen before, but the first one is new to me. Intriguing.
- Spock Toad! Funny and sad at the same time. (Via)
- Heh. (Via)
- Okay, this story about Brett Ratner's short for that anthology movie about New York is just weird all the way around. (Via)
- I think I've seen, and possibly posted, this illustration of Marvel supervillains before, but it's so cool, it's worth another look. (Via)
- How to calculate pi by throwing frozen hot dogs. Which immediately sounds unlikely, and when you read it, it just seems even more unlikely. I don't think I'll be trying it out to see if it's true or not, though, so I'm hoping the guys at Mythbusters will do it for me. (Via)
- Danny Trejo will be in Robert Rodriguez's Predator movie! Excellent. I love Danny Trejo. While we're on the subject, here's some further, spoilery info about the Predator movie from a script review.
- A gallery of creepy cool Lovecraftian art.
- Jedi bathrobe.
- The Terminator rights are up for sale again. C'mon people, let's pool our cash and pick these up so we can make sure the next movie is done right!
- Yes, there will be a Super Street Fighter IV. It will have eight more fighters, including T. Hawk, Dee Jay, and a new female character named Jiro. But it will still not be available on any console that I actually own. Boo! Click through for a short teaser.
- Super Punch is declaring Umbrella Academy: Dallas the best comic of the year. There might have been better books, actually, but Dallas is certainly not a bad choice. I also enjoy the collection of weird and fun Umbrella Academy imagery included in the post.
- The finalists for Attack of the Show's Keyboard Cat art contest. (Via)
- I can't quite bring myself to watch it (amateur acting makes me queasy), but this fan-made short wherein the Doctor visits the Star Wars universe certainly has a great premise.
- A review of what sounds like a rather intriguing and surreal animated film: A Town Called Panic.
- Some scientists have succeeded in making quantum entanglement visible to the naked eye. I don't really know what that means, but it sounds awesome. Scientists are also designing an insane-sounding dark matter detector called a bolometer.
- Leonardo DiCaprio will star in a film called The Deep Blue Goodbye, an adaptation of the first in a series of novels about a sort of beach bum detective named Travis McGee. Sounds promising.
- Lots of really wonderful behind-the-scenes photos from Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are.
- Summer Glau's role on Dollhouse has supposedly been upgraded to recurring. She'd originally been signed on to appear in just a couple of episodes. (Via)
- Bacon of the month club?!? Sign me up!!
