Fëanor pours the entire internet into the Recyclotron, and only the best links come out the other end for you to enjoy.
- There's a movie called Halo Legends coming out, which is an anthology of short anime stories based in the Halo universe, a number of them made by legends of the format. You can watch part of it above. It's not exactly fresh and creative, but it's totally awesome anyway. (Via)
- This seems like a cool service: punch in a list of your favorite bands, and they'll let you know when those guys put out new albums. Problem is, I think my list would be ridiculously long... (Via Tony)
- Here's the word on those 3D TVs I was talking about.
- Researchers just might have found dark matter at the bottom of a mine in Minnesota. Figures that's where it would be. Always the last place you look. (Via)
- Hey, it's a girl-being-trained-as-an-assassin movie! I like those!
- Another assassin movie in the works (Steven Soderbergh's Knockout) is putting together an impressive cast. It will feature mixed martial artist Gina Carano, Ewan McGregor, Dennis Quaid, Michael Douglas, and Michael Fassbender.
- The future history of everyday life, as told in photos from Google Street View.
- Those Daybreakers guys are working on a movie about an alternate history 1940s, and a sci-fi update of Captain Blood.
- It's become very popular lately and unfortunately seems to have choked to death on all the extra traffic, but if you can get it to load, this rewrite of The Big Lebowski as a Shakespearean play is truly brilliant, hilarious, and inspired. (Via)
- Venture Bros. toys are on the way! (Via)
- Starship Enterprise turntable. (Via)
- This YouTube Doubler mashup seriously made me laugh until I cried. (Via)
- Another hilarious remix of some footage from Star Wars. (Via Eric)
- Love, love, LOVE this comic. It's funny because it's true.
- io9 is right: there should totally be a Gotham Central TV show. Somebody get to work on this right away! Somebody good!
- Scientists found some more crazy planets, including some that burn hotter than the stars they orbit, and one that's bigger than Jupiter but light as styrofoam.
- A team of scientists are working on making the world's first artificial conscious and intelligent mind by 2018. So assume the robot apocalypse will begin around then and plan accordingly.
- "Alexis Denisof has shot a pilot for a supernatural series that ABC is considering for its fall schedule: Pretty Little Liars." The show's about five teenage girls, one of whom is a ghost.
- Modified Charlie Browns.
- Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, which I chose as one of the best films of 2002, could be getting an American remake. I'm fascinated by remakes in general, but this just seems like a pointless idea. Can't we just give the original film a wider American release? It's already excellent!
- How about some Darkest of the Hillside Thickets videos? Here's them playing "Shoggoths Away" live at GENCON, and here's the official music video for "Worship Me Like a God."
