Fëanor pours the entire internet into the Recyclotron, and only the best links come out the other end for you to enjoy.
- Above is a really wonderful stop-motion animated short film about creativity and inspiration, from LEGO. (Via)
- TIE fighter costume! (Via)
- Do you like the movie Brick? If not, you're wrong. It's one of the best movies of the past decade, and the best movie of 2005. Anyway, the writer/director of the film, Rian Johnson, recently discovered that the official site had been taken down, so he started his own Tumblr full of photos and videos and music from the film. Another Tumblr recently posted by Johnson (although this one was not created by him) is Fuck Yeah The Mountain Goats! with tons of photos and videos and music about one of Johnson's (and my) favorite bands, The Mountain Goats. - Wolfman painting! (Via)
- Some details on Laurence Fishburne's role in the upcoming Predators movie.
- Jackie Earle Haley might play Sinestro in Green Lantern. I like it!
- Some good news for a change: the Doomsday Clock was set back a minute, and is now resting at 6 minutes to midnight.
- Heh. What to do when Zelda is kidnapped.
- A few scant details on what the Captain America movie is going to be like. The director says, "It is influenced by the comic book, but it goes off in a completely different direction." Which is slightly upsetting. But he goes on to describe a very familiar character and story, so maybe there's nothing to worry about.
- Feminist pop culture blogger Jennifer K. Stuller noticed that that list of 100 quotes every geek should know which I linked to a while back included only four that were spoken by women, so she made her own, all-female version. (Via)
- Jabba the Hutt snowman. (Via)
- UPDATE: This is something I linked to on Twitter, but it's so cool I wanted to add it here, as well: the folks who run The House on the Rock, a crazy tourist destination in Madison, WI which has a central role in the plot of Neil Gaiman's novel American Gods (the place is so crazy he says he had to tone it down in the book to make it believable), are planning a Halloween event for fans of the book and are asking for input on what form the event should take. Some lucky folks might get to ride the largest carousel in the world! Although, alas, I don't think the folks in charge are promising that said ride will transport you into the land of the Gods.
