Recyclotron |
by Fëanor |
Fëanor pours the entire internet into the Recyclotron, and only the best links come out the other end for you to enjoy.
- A trailer for a kinda creepy, kinda sad-looking robot love story by Spike Jonze called I'm Here, sponsored by Absolut. (Via)
- How about this whole 3D revolution? I guess that Dreamworks guy was right about it taking over. Anyway, looks like Tron Legacy will be using 3D only in the scenes set in Tron's world; Clash of the Titans might be converted to 3D; and we could see Ghostbusters 3 in 3D, too.
- Somebody worked out the science of those thruster rockets that R2-D2 whips out in the prequels (even though he never used them later on in the original trilogy, which makes no sense) and found that for them to work the way they appear to, R2 would need to weigh only 100 grams. Whoops. Of course, the Star Wars movies also feature sound in space, so it's not like George was ever that concerned with being true to physics.
- Frank Darabont will be adapting the zombie comic The Walking Dead into a TV series for AMC. I'm getting a little tired of zombies, and I never read the comic, but the fact that Darabont is involved is interesting.
- The new Conan the barbarian has been cast, and he will be played by Jason Momoa of Stargate: Atlantis.
- The 1,000 greatest films, as voted by "critics, filmmakers, reviewers, scholars and other likely film types." All the usual suspects, pretty much. Generally good picks, although I have my usual quibbles (I still don't get what's so great about Some Like It Hot or Breathless or Night of the Hunter, and so on). (Via)
