Fëanor pours the entire internet into the Recyclotron, and only the best links come out the other end for you to enjoy.
- Watch as a bunch of kaiju monsters engage in a dance competition judged by a panel of Ultramen. It's from a Japanese variety show, natch.
- The Hulk will be in the Avengers movie, and it's possible that Edward Norton will be playing the Jade Giant's alter ego once again.
- George Lucas is supposedly planning a computer-animated musical. Hoo boy.
- Passengers could be an interesting movie. Maybe. It's a sci-fi romance about a guy (Keanu Reeves) on a spaceship who gets woken out of cryo-sleep 90 years early and has to decide whether to live out those years alone or ruin somebody else's life by waking them up early, too.
- 14 bizarre extinct species. (Via)
- China has renamed a mountain in honor of Avatar.
- Sweet, life-sized Tron light-bike.
- Wikipedia has a bunch of fun tables comparing the characteristics of the various different types of fictional and mythological vampires. (Via)
- Yet another variation on the "It's a trap!" joke, in T-shirt form.
- McG will executive produce a remake of the USA TV series La Femme Nikita for the CW. I loved the original show, and I love the movie it was based on, but McG I do not love, and the CW doesn't exactly have a fantastic track record. Still, I will remain cautiously optimistic.
- Marvel has unveiled its plans for the next step after the Siege storyline: The Heroic Age. I'll just go ahead and quote the Underwire article here:
Comics released under the "Heroic Age" banner, starting with the May release of Avengers No. 1, represent "a bold new era for the world’s greatest superheroes as they emerge from darkness with a renewed sense of hope and optimism," Marvel said in a press release Wednesday.
The Heroic Age will be bringing together new teams consisting of time-tested superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Fantastic Four and the Avengers as well as introducing entirely new characters. So the Avengers are coming back in a new format, just like I expected. It'll be good to be able to say "The Avengers" and not be confused anymore as to which of like six teams we're referring to! In fact, overall this sounds like a positive thing to me. I'd like to see the grand old teams back together again, and being all hopeful and optimistic for a change. Could be fun.
