- Alex Graves, the guy who directed the Fringe pilot, as well as various episodes of West Wing and Sports Night, will be directing the debut episode of Steven Spielberg's Terra Nova. Entertainment Weekly describes how the pilot opens: "a large group of settlers are preparing to leave the apocalyptic world they live in to time travel back millions of years via a massive, high-tech contraption. Their goal is to see trees, enjoy a blue sky, eat real food—basically, to start over in this so-called Eden. But what they find is unlike anything they were expecting." Intriguing!
- It sounds like the film adaptation of The Hobbit simply can't proceed until MGM works out its financial issues. Suck. The good news is, Guillermo del Toro has everything planned out and ready to go, so as soon as the greenlight turns on, he's going to hit the ground running.
- The hedge fund that currently owns the rights to a Terminator sequel is getting ready to sell them to a studio or production company that could actually do something with them. Good idea!
- Sweet! Tommy Lee Jones is in Captain America! No word on who he's playing yet, but the strong bet is on General Chester Phillips, the guy who picks Steve Rogers for the super soldier program.
- A new animated Batman movie is on the way called Under the Red Hood. Check out a trailer here. I'm curious which Red Hood we're talking about here; the trailer doesn't make it clear.
- Here's a preview for $#*! My Dad Says, the TV show based on the Twitter feed. Eh, I don't know. Shatner appears to be funny in the role, but besides that, it looks a lot like every other sitcom ever.
