On the Viewer - Fringe (Season 3, Episode 11 - "Reciprocity")
 by Fëanor

Spoilers ahoy! Beware!

FACT: Walter is partial to grape chewing gum. Hey, me too!

Walter calls the other Olivia Faux-livia. Very nice. "Faux-livia ruined U2 for all of us." Heh.

It's gotta be a bit disconcerting when your mere presence causes a doomsday machine to boot up.

Starting to get pretty curious as to why Peter is lying to everybody about what he did last night. What could he have done that was so bad he doesn't want to tell anybody? Did he go see Drive Angry or something?

Olivia's being pretty nice to Peter again. I thought she was still pissed at him for sleeping with her alternate universe double?

A dead shapeshifter shows up in a pond with his memory drive removed. Turns out he's on a list of folks in Faux-livia's file. Looks like Fringe Division might have a mole! Is it Peter?? If so, why? Has he been secretly working for Walternate all along? Or does he have some other, more personal motive?

Awkward moments as Olivia and Peter are told they probably shouldn't help look through Faux-livia's file due to the details she goes into about her relationship with Peter. D'oh.

Meanwhile, we're running Voight-Kampff tests on FBI agents and employees at Massive Dynamic! I wish they'd do the question about the tortoise.

We only recently learned there was a mole, then they threw suspicion on Dr. Falcon, and now his guilt has already been confirmed. That was quick.

As Olivia expresses her desire to get to a shapeshifter before it's killed and its memory is deleted, Peter looks shifty. Is he the one taking them out? If so, why? Is he the real villain here? That would really turn a lot of this season on its head.

Oh, good lord. Walter's got chimp DNA in his brain. So instead of getting smarter and more stable he's just going to get crazier.

Olivia signals her readiness to try again with Peter. Which, given the need for tension and drama, means something else will have to come between them, and soon. Something is definitely going on with him...

Uh oh! Our favorite Massive Dynamic lab geek, Brandon, is now suspected in the killing of Dr. Falcon. But that's probably just a red herring and Peter will turn out to be the culprit.

... and yes, I am correct. Wow. Peter. What the hell?

The chimp DNA has left Walter obsessed with bananas, a fruit he normally hates. He's making himself a banana split when Nina calls. "I was just thinking about you," he says, as he squirts whip cream into his mouth. Eeww. The occasional sexual tension between him and Nina is creepy.

I think Walter's figured out what Peter's doing. Of course, as far as Peter's concerned, Walter's the best person to have found him out. He's the last person who'd betray him.

Peter claims he's been killing the shapeshifters and going through their memory drives to find information, so he could know things ahead of time and be active instead of being reactive. Walter: "If you're not doing anything wrong, why didn't you tell us? This is not you." Indeed, if he hadn't bled at one of the previous crime scenes, I'd wonder if he'd been replaced by a shapeshifter himself.

Now Peter's roped Walter into lying for him about what he's been doing. This is messed up.

Walter: "When you touched the machine it changed you - it weaponized you." Woah.

Okay! That was a strange episode. Peter is getting dark and violent and secretive and it's not entirely clear why. Did the doomsday machine really get inside him somehow as Walter suspects? This should make for some tense and interesting moments moving forward.
