Okay, Getting Really Bad at the Title Thing |
by Fëanor |
- Our landlady keeps a birdhouse type of thing out front.
There's also this cat that belongs to the people that live behind us, but is always wandering around in our driveway.
I never really thought about how these two facts might correlate and produce violence until I walked into the driveway this afternoon just in time to see the cat leap up, smack the birdhouse with his paw, and snatch a bird right out of the air with his teeth.
I stood there aghast as the cat strutted up the drive with a most ostentatious swagger, the bird still squawking in his mouth.
And then, what the hell do you know, the bird up and flew right out of there. It landed on the deck for a moment to collect itself, and then disappeared into the sky.
- Princess was at work again today! Princess is the cutest and tiniest and sweetest and quietest of cute tiny sweet quiet dogs and belongs to one of my co-workers. For a while, Princess sat on my lap and helped me code SQL. Sigh. I need a doggie.
- Last night I got a chance to watch my tape of "Lost: The Journey," which was a TV special they aired earlier this week to catch you up on what's happened in "Lost" so far. It was ideal for a person like myself, who's only just started watching the show and is finding himself occasionally a bit...well, lost, as it were. I did note, however, that this special covered only the important events that have occurred so far on the island itself, and did not cover any of the flashbacks--the interesting and revealing past events in these people's lives. Ah, well. Maybe I'll rent the inevitable "Lost" DVD whenever it comes out (or is it already out?).
- This weekend is so far shaping up to be pretty laid back for me. Tomorrow I'll be watching movies and generally slacking with SK while Aerenchyma and poppy confer on important matters. Tonight Poppy and I are headed into the city for dinner and the ballet. And as far as I know, I've got nothing going on for Sunday, which means video games! And possibly getting back to work on one of my coding projects, or starting the film festival diary.
- Btw, I ended up buying a ticket to that upcoming Ben Folds concert on one of those hopefully-not-less-than-reputable websites. Now that I've straightened out some confusion about the address with the assistance of a surprisingly helpful woman at FedEx, the ticket should be arriving at my place of work on Monday.
- Speaking of tickets, I've got two for two different showings of Revenge of the Sith--one already in hand (thanks, mouserobot!), the other awaiting me at the theater. I watched a video online today which apparently aired at Celebration III (the big official Star Wars convention they had earlier this month) and which consisted of just a bunch of footage from all six films edited together. It totally gave me the chills. I'm so excited.
- Okay, I think I'll go watch the rest of that "Alias" episode now. Later, folks.
