  • After my first listen of The White Stripes' new CD, Get Behind Me Satan, I was inclined to agree with Vis Major about it. She had given me a copy of the CD with the warning that it wasn't particularly good, and really only had a few catchy tunes. But a second listen today totally changed my mind, and now I find myself enjoying pretty much every track, and really liking the album as a whole. The first track--"Blue Orchid," which I believe is also the song they released as the first single off this disc--is still my absolute favorite, as it has a fantastic classic rock sound and a great riff, but I also like "Forever For Her (Is Over For Me)," "Little Ghost," "The Denial Twist," "Passive Manipulation," and "I'm Lonely (But I Ain't That Lonely Yet)."

  • In other music news, the Comcast home page had a link to a video for the Gorillaz latest song for some reason, and I remembered liking their track "Clint Eastwood" from a few years ago, so I went and watched it, and really enjoyed it. I watched some more videos by them, and then headed over to add a couple of their CDs to my Amazon Wish List. I picked out their first release, Gorillaz, and their latest disc, Demon Days. Anybody out there know much about this band? Would you recommend different discs?

I've always been kind of ashamed of myself for never getting into rap and hip hop, so I guess this is my first step...

  • If you don't have much to do for a while, take some time to read this (thanks to sarcasmoscorner for the link). It's amusing and enlightening, and it's about Hamlet!
