After checking our mirrors and our blindspot, we have successfully merged back onto the information superhighway. Hooray!
We have cable TV again. Hooray!
The move went well, with very few mishaps, and the great majority of our stuff is unpacked and put away already, thanks to the help of both sets of parents, among others. Hooray!
Now I should probably get back to helping my wife put together new Ikea furniture.
But before I do that, here's that quick review of Batman Begins I've been promising you (although it seems superfluous now, as all my friends in the blogosphere have already posted reviews of it): It was great! Except for two flaws: it occasionally got very corny and preachy, and Katie Holmes was in it. But it handled the mythology really well, and really captured the essence of Batman--it hit all the important points, and told a good story about fear and hope and vengeance and justice and all those kinds of things. And it was loaded with fantastic performances from fantastic actors--Christian Bale as Batman, Gary Oldman as James Gordon, Liam Neeson as Ducard, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Rutger Hauer as Earle, and especially Michael as Alfred. Best Alfred ever; best Batman ever; best Batman movie ever.
Well, in the time it took me to write that, poppy's finished putting that Ikea bookcase together, and I hardly had to help at all. Sweet! :)
Anyway, it's great to be back on the internet, and it was painful to be without it. My computer was nearly useless, although I did get some KotOR 2 in today. Now I've got to dig through all the blog posts I missed...
P.S. As soon as the place is ready, we'll invite everybody over to see it, and bask in its mighty glow. We're both very pleased. It's a great place, and has no crazy landlady living upstairs. |
