- Thanks to kds for pointing me toward this neat story about a blind video game master. Awesome. I wonder how many people call him Tommy...
- I found a couple of fun links in some of the more recent posts on Apropos of Something. First, an article about Japanese robotics--specifically, robot suits designed to help the elderly move around and care for themselves. Basically, mechs. God, I love the Japanese. But why did they call the suit HAL?! Bad marketing, my friends! The idea is to disassociate your computer from the kind of computers that go crazy and kill people.
- Also on Apropos is a link to this great clip from a "Family Guy" episode in which Chris inexplicably finds himself in the midst of one of the greatest music videos of all time--the one for Ah-Ha's "Take On Me." Hilarity ensues!
- The Movie Blog posted a link to the trailer for Uwe Boll's latest catastrophe--the film version of the vampire video game Bloodrayne. It's a zipped Windows Media Player file, but it's well worth the trouble of downloading and unzipping--you will laugh your ass off. Even when placed amongst the company of other video game and Uwe Boll films, this looks ridiculously awful.
- I read about this in the paper this morning and really got a kick out of it, but I'd almost forgotten about posting it until I got the article emailed to me by kds--thanks again, kds! This would have been an even funnier story if the guy had made the offer to George W. for one (or both!) of his daughters--which is how I misread it this morning--but it's still pretty funny this way.
- Wow, Ah-Ha's "Take On Me" just came up in my iTunes shuffle! Weird...
