More Snakes on a Different Plane |
by Fëanor |
- For more on Snakes on a Plane, I point you to this post on I Find Your Lack of Faith Disturbing, which I came across completely by accident today. The author is a screenwriter who was actually offered the job of writing Snakes on a Plane. He didn't end up working on it, but it left its indelible mark on him and his life all the same.
- The Cinematical post on the upcoming flick Shoot-Em-Up made it sound like a lame Kindergarten Cop-type deal (don't get me wrong, I kind of like Kindergarten Cop, it's just that this kind of thing has been done to death). A hitman is hired to protect a newborn from other hitmen. And no doubt his cold heart is touched by the cute, helpless creature and he turns over a new leaf, yada yada yada. However, The Movie Blog article on this very same subject makes the movie sound far more exciting. It's a high octane action flick; it opens with a baby being born during a "bullet ballet"; it stars the super-hot Monica Bellucci, the super-cool Clive Owen, and the super-talented Paul Giamatti; and the plot sounds rather mysterious and interesting. I'm looking forward to this one now.
- According to Wired News, we're on the road toward 3D TV that affects all of our senses. This sounds like one of those flying car promises, but you never know, maybe they'll actually be able to pull it off. I wonder if it will be anything more than a fad, though. Regular people don't really care much about having video phones; will they really want to also smell and feel the things they see and hear on TV? I mean, the implications for the porn industry are obvious, but for regular shows, I'm not sure where this could go. We can only wait and see...
