I just don't know what to do with myself
by poppy

It is raining again. I didn't think it was supposed to rain again until tomorrow. This is a bit of a bummer since our apartment resembles a cave when it is not sunny out, and considering that I've been behaving basically like a hibernating bear lately anyway I'm severely lacking in the motivation department today.

One of the problems is that I've been in an incredible amount of pain for the last few days. I don't go to the doctor's until tomorrow, and he told me to do some yoga until then. Like I feel like doing yoga. However, since I can't really stand upright anyway I'm halfway to most of the poses, so I decided to give it a try. I gamely took out my mat, warmed up a bit, then tried to do something that I can't remember the name of: plank? I don't think that's right. It's the push-up position looking one, that you can get to cobra from. Anyhoo, I got up on my hands... and couldn't move. That's not quite true, I did move, but here "move" means "fall". So I don't think that yoga was a hot idea, considering that now doc will have to look at my hip as well.

I now have several post-yoga options. I can work on my evaluating library services paper. I can work on my SciTech research questions (btw, if anyone knows why Chu did not win the Nobel Prize with Bednorz and Muller for his work on superconductivity, be a pal and drop me a line). I could go to my local laudromat (read: parent's basement) and wash up my jeans and the hideously damp clothes Feanor came home in the other night. I could go to the food store so that our fridge is stocked with something more than expired orange juice and a month-old onion. Or I could lay on the couch with a heating pad and read a novel that has nothing to do with my school work whatsoever, and perhaps finish the afghan of doom, or perhaps bloginator's scarf, or perhaps my poncho that has been languishing in my school bag for three weeks.

What should it be? Should I get a jump on the next two weeks of work? Should I ensure that Feanor has clean, dry clothes to wear and something besides stale pretzels and ice cream to eat? Or do I take a nap?
