- First, quizzes, both via sarcasmoscorner. I'm particularly proud of the second one.
-
your guardian is DEATH!
"Death accompanies each mortal twice in life. At birth, she speaks to them, but since no one remembers what she says, it is not known why. When they die, she guides them to what lies beyond their mortal years. Mortals fear Death. They fear the sunless lands to which she guides them. They feebly attempt to placate her. They do not love her. She is the divider of the living from all that has gone before and all that must come after."
as a child of Death, you are extremely practical. you understand the pain of the real world - and its joys. you know that it's important to experience the bad times in order to appreciate the good times. yet, you are not without compassion. you empathize with those going through hard times. when push comes to shove, though, you'll do what you think is right. the journey is what's important - not the length of the journey. as Death says, "you get what anyone gets; you get a lifetime." public service fall under her jurisdiction.

- A few news items:
- Mike Myers as Who drummer Keith Moon?! I'm really not sure how I feel about this news. At first I thought it was the worst idea ever. Then I considered it some more, and started to wonder if maybe it could work. I just don't know...
- Thanks to kds for letting me know that, barring any conspiracy theories you might want to concoct, there are actually probably not trained dart-shooting dolphins roaming the Gulf coast after all, despite the article I posted some time ago. This news makes me simultaneously relieved and disappointed.
- And finally, some personal notes:
- I've been playing a pretty goodly amount of Mario Superstar Baseball on the GameCube lately. I got it for my birthday, along with RPGs Skies of Arcadia: Legends and Tales of Symphonia. I played a bit of Tales, and I like it, but I haven't tried Skies yet. Instead, I've been spending my free nights (including one long, sleepless one) cursing and swearing at the animated characters in Mario Baseball; taking a break from that to go back and do all the practice tasks, thus actually learning the vaguely complex control system for the game; and then going right back into the cursing and swearing again. After all this, I have succeeded in gaining a slightly better handle on the game, and also in defeating the first group of teams, and unlocking the way in to play Bowser's team. Wish me luck!
- Normally I don't post on the weekends anyway, but this weekend poppy and I are heading down to the shore, so also expect us to be out of email contact, and just generally off the grid. Catch you back here on Monday, folks.
