Fun with Html |
by Fëanor |
I meant to post this yesterday, but I didn't have a lot of time, and I'm sick. Okay, done with excuses, on with the show...
- Well, it's official: Daniel Craig is the new Bond. On the one hand, I'm excited, because Craig is a good actor, and I loved him in Layer Cake. On the other hand...he seems a little too sensitive and, to be perfectly frank, ugly (am I off base here?) to play the cool, sexy, suave Bond. Still, I'm looking forward to his first movie with optimism.
- For all you Snakes on a Plane fanatics. Especially check out the fun T-shirts!
- Latest Phillyist article; the editor's note is inaccurate, and this got posted two weeks after I expected it to be, so it's really not very useful or correct, but I still think it's okay as an article.
- Romance & Cigarettes (not to be confused with Coffee and Cigarettes) looks pretty good. It's written and directed by your friend and mine, John Turturro, produced by the Coen brothers, and starring great folks like Christopher Walken, Eddie Izzard, Susan Sarandon, James Gandolfini, Kate Winslet, and Steve Buscemi. Of course, ensemble films like this can often be bad, but the trailer is promising. We'll see.
- I finally finished watching "Firefly" - all the episodes, and all the special features. I loved it, and although it was satisfying to see it complete, it was unsatisfying and saddening to know it was over, especially since the last episode, "Objects in Space," provides no conclusions or solutions to any of the mysteries of the show, and doesn't tie off any of the plot's loose ends. Watching the making of feature and other extra material just made me love the show more and feel even more sad that it's over. Still, hopefully the movie has done well enough to spark a series of sequels (come on, Hollywood, you make a sequel out of any damn stupid thing, make a sequel for this!), even if they have to be TV movies, or straight-to-video. And, of course, we can always hope that Fox comes to its senses and picks up the show again. But I'm not holding my breath.
Still. You can't take the sky from me, damn it!
